We weren't certain if we were actually going to take engagement photos. Neither of us has been uber-traditional as we've gone along with our wedding plans, or our engagement plans for that matter. It dawned on us that we rarely take nice photos together. I don't mean to say that we don't have any photos of us, or that the only thing we do is make ridiculous faces in our photos with each other (which is what we do, more often than not), I just mean that in all of our photos together over the years we're in jeans, camping gear, hiking gear, sweat, pajamas, or making silly faces. So when we saw that my friend Kristin was offering her time for a couples photoshoot, we leapt at the opportunity to hang out with her and get in some incredible fancy photographs to document this special time in our lives.

We're so grateful to have these images of our love. Every photoshoot with Kristin always puts me at ease in the way she allows her subjects to simply be themselves, but these photos of this day are especially meaningful since we were able to really enjoy our time together at Filoli touring the house and gardens. Now not only do we have beautiful photos, but we also have a wonderful shared memory among friends.
