Feeling very much like a flower child and frolicking around in tall budding reeds with photographer Lydia Hudgens.

I absolutely love this thick lace dress. It's back is a huge cutout with a puffy tie at the neck, the embroidered edges of the layered lace flounce into the silhouette of an ice skater's skirt at the hem, and wearing it makes me feel as though I've stepped into a vintage era of daisy-ring crowns and electric guitar serenades. I can pull it on any day and feel instantly sex-kittenesque... it's slightly sheer, so coverage is needed in the necessary portions (I have a rosy nude-hued half slip that I occasionally even wear alone as a lingerie-français-inspired skirt — it looks perfect under this.) Not specifically work-safe for the summer, though I can't wait to layer it such that it can become appropriate come Fall.
I sported it with easy accessories that hint at time... my hourglass necklace, cameo rings and the bird-on-a-wire earrings that sing of the sixties. I also pulled my tassel necklace-turned-obsession on over my forehead, and realized it totally rocked like a den filled with billowing floor cushions and patchouli edged in cedarwood and cypress, so I wore it as a headband. I also tried a messy side fishtail braid, something I'm hoping to sport more often this year.
