Although Fall has so far been a mash-up of heat waves, rain and humidity, I think it's about time I buckle down and start planning on some cooler-climate shopping. But what to plan? Hmm...
Tuija of Portland, OR asks; "What is a must have for the winter season?"

On the lust list:
Leather, luxe knits, faux furs and metallic embroideries.

Great ways, everyday:
Crafty layers of hearty knits, delicate underpinnings and heritage shoes.

The mix:
For day to day, think more volume on top and clingier on the bottom. Haute looks this season are skinny through the leg with layers of warmth around the torso and arms. Shoes are substantial, and also hinting at folk wear.  If you're going out, think slinky and sexy shapes cut in well-embellished fabrics. Dresses are showing either exposed shoulders or full-length sleeves, and hemlines are lingering between knees and the floor. If you're wearing something dressy, opt for architecturally cut-out heels.
Keeping warm during the day: Pull a leather jacket or belted knit vest over your ensemble. Keeping warm at night: Don a faux-fur shrug or shearling coat to top off everything!
