You have chic city shorts that you can wear for work, but want to take them out for a play day. You want to catch that cool vintage/indie vibe we are so well known for here in the city?
First I must say, vintage makes me so happy. It's a greatly misunderstood interest... often scoffed at because of it's bad rap of being old duds. But really, there are stunningly great pieces out there waiting for you to pick up. Vintage may be the most intimate forms of shopping because it's so one on one, you, and that perfect piece. Don't knock it till you try it! Ok rant over... and back to our shorts.
You can really work them many different ways if you want to, but my best suggestion is with decisive layering. For an indie vintage take on the look, style with sheer black tights, something tucked in up top, and a long boyfriend sweater belted just at the waist to pull everything together. Belt over the sweater, but leave it unbuttoned to expose your cute high-waisted shorts! Accessorize with old lockets or other long chained charms and low booties!
