GREY MATTER

In heavily frothed clouds perched closely amongst the trees
the sky rests, seen as if from underneath the ebbing flow
of lost arctic snows.
I will imagine myself an igloo with gold-leaved staircases
to meander up and down through the lightfall
and a fox, whom I will name Henry
he will stand watch for the narwhals frigid breaths across the night.
